Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest wildlife reserve, famed for the dramatic Falls where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge only 7 meters wide, launching water hundreds of feet below. The park’s rolling savannah plains and riverine forests support large populations of lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, elephants, and several antelope species. The Nile itself is a wildlife magnet — hippos and crocodiles lounge in its waters, and rare shoebill storks wade in the reeds. A sunrise or sunset boat cruise provides breathtaking views and photographic opportunities.
